The term Anjali Mudra has been coined from two Sanskrit words 'anjali' meaning Honor or Celebration and 'mudra' meaning Seal. Thus Anjali Mudra means the Salutation Seal.

Procedure:
1. Either sit in Siddhasana or stand in Tadasana with your hands alongside your body. Look straight and breathe normally.
2. Bend both your hands at the knee and fold them, pressing your palms against each other firmly, as you do while praying.
3. Now bow your head slightly and straighten your back, armpits and elbows. Inhale and exhale deeply thorough your nostrils. This is Anjali Mudra.
4. Retain this posture for one minute and then slowly come back to your original position.
